Russia’s Central Bank Made First Step In Creating United Eurasian Currency?

2000 rubles

Central Bank of Russia introduced new 200 and 2000 ruble banknotes on October 12.

Elvira Nabiullina, the head of Central Bank of Russia, said that introducing new banknotes will take some time, with widespread use expected by December 2017.

200 rubles

The Bank finalized the banknote design this Summer. The symbols for the new money were selected by popular vote across Russia. The 2000 ruble banknote features Vostochny Cosmodrome and Russky Bridge in Vladivostok, while the 200 ruble banknote features Chersonesus and Monument for the Sunken Ships in Sevastopol.

The new banknotes have a verry different design in comparison to the exsiting banknotes. The concept and colour-grade are fully reworked.

It’s interesting to note that the introduction of 200 and 2000 ruble banknotes is not a usual move. If Moscow wants to update design of the Russian banknotes, it can just re-intorduce it for the exsiting banknotes (10, 50, 100, 1000, 5000 rubles). However, the Central Bank decided to release new banknotes.

Some experts believe that with this move, the Russian Central Bank is preparing the citizens for a fully new design model of the banknotes.

Furthermore, the new design look very similar to the banknotes of Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, the process of the so-called Eurasian integration is steadily developing. Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and other regional players gradually develop their cooperation within this project. According to some experts, Russia and Kazakhstan are the two most active powers pushing it further.

In this case, it’s possible to carefully conclude that the introduction of the new Russian banknotes are first of all a political move in the framework of creation of the united Eurasian currency.

european design, looks like euros…..

Alejandro Calero

Yeah, but it is a nice design.

matt

Euros as well, compared with the ugly dollar both look awesome!

Rob

There should be 4 languages on these notes that is Russian, Chines, Arab, English.

Art

“Eurasian integration” While Kazakhstan is pushing to return to Latin based alphabet.

Solomon Krupacek

also russia should go to latin alphabet

Rachotilko

What about Greece ?

Solomon Krupacek

also. i know greek alphabet, also speak a little greek language. but lot of people do not choise greek as foreign language, because dont want learn other alphabet.

Alex Popoff

Cirillic users do not have any problems with learning latin alphabeth, why does latin users always complain at cirillic?

Solomon Krupacek

they simply do. :) i like different alphabets, i know also arab and partially japan katakana and hirgana. i like kalligraphy. but i know, for the 90% of people this is limiting factor.

Brother Ma

So how many languages do you speak solomon?

Brother Ma

Western european chauvinism!

Brother Ma

And also lazy and not very clever.

Many East europeans and russians learn or learned french or english traditionally but germans french italian only learn english if at all.english speaking countries us canada uk aust new zealand have very poor language skills.very few know any other language ,even if in latin alphabet.

Rachotilko

How dare you, Krupáček, are demanding people of venerable ancient cultural heritage to dump their identity. The current demented global pseudoculture is only worthless epizode in the diverse and rich history of human cultures. Getting rid of this diversity is so … křupanské …

Solomon Krupacek

how dare you rachotilko tu put in my mouth ideas, which i never told.

sorry, i am a free man in free country, and have a born right to have own opinion and to tell it. and i think, yes, would be better for russians, if they had also latin alphabet.

Brother Ma

Why?

Solomon Krupacek

there is no reason to keep azbuka. for what? alphabet is for written communication. should not be put too much emotions. it would be easier to learn russian for foreigners, and also for russians learn other languages. the mankind would be more united.

Alex Popoff

I would agree, but with keeping some extra cirillic letters like щ or ж.

Solomon Krupacek

no problem. when i learned russian, was also phonetically version in latin alphabet. you can solve like serbians. ź, ść. ore else. harder is tvjordyj znak :)

Brother Ma

Yes makes sense solomon. Yet if universal communication is your aim then we all need to learn chinese or hindi.they will be top languages in ten to twenty years.

Antikapitalista

Why don’t the Czechs and Poles return to the Cyrillic script? You know, it would be easier for the Czech and the Poles to learn Russian, as well as for the Russians to learn Czech or Polish, to promote better unity and understanding among them.

I think that is a fair proposal, as the Czechs have a shorter tradition of using the Latin script than the Russians’ tradition of using the “Azbuka”.

Solomon Krupacek

bullshit.

btw., the azbuka is also not russian. came from east roman empire. is foreign thing.

I think that is a fair proposal, as the Czechs have a shorter tradition of using the Latin script than the Russians’ tradition of using the “Azbuka”

dont be sure. ;)

you should compare, how many people use cyrillica and how many latin alphabet? also in such countires like turkey is latin ABC. simply practically would be better for russia toi change. cyrillica is false consciousness.

FlorianGeyer

Why ?

Emilia M.

Will be just as worthless as the Ruble.

Not sure how this can be seen as “creating a Eurasian currency”. The world should start preparing for a new system of international settlements and trade. The world reserve currency should not be on country’s currency. Given that money is kind of fake rethinking the system is overdue. The currencies (IOUs to the central banks/Rothschild) are mainly a fiddle to benefit the banking families. We need to take control back from them!

Solomon Krupacek

2 l vodka + afterparty article writing :)

goingbrokes

Lol. Solid currency that does not suffer from inflation! Except maybe the article writing…

Rodger

If the Russians want a widely used international currency then they should make small bills with a value of $1.000-$10.000 that don’t take stains from fecal matter very easily. Would drive the DEA nuts at least. I bet you can sell a few hunderd billion dollar worth of them in the first few years in North America alone and buy them back at discount in South America.

Денис Черкасов

It isn’t about looking like Kazahstan’s Tenge, it is about looking like Euro. Kazahstan don’t want to create unified currancy and eurasian bank. Kazahstan only wants to get benefits from existing stage of the union. Kazahstan on the other hand wants to move away from Russia when it changes its alphabet from cyrilic to latin. Kazahstan wants to be closer to Turkey and other turk nations not Russia.

Ilies Bekhtaoui

Kazakhstan is 45% russian , Kazakhstan isn’t going anywhere , khasakistan said in it’s own words that they want more relations with russia , Kazakhstan can’t survive or have any security without russian protection and millitary help and same with all other ex soviet countries , Kazakhstan have nothing to win in getting out of russian influence , Kazakhstan is not like you say

Neo Onh

A gold-backed rouble, that is what we need, and a liberated Novorossiya!

Solomon Krupacek

rubel will be always local currency. in eurasia only renmimbi. if.

Fritz Otto

But on the top of the wishlist of an eurasian currency would be a strikt regulation for bancrupty of states, like the US-States before the Union made and like the European countries “forgot” before the introduction of the Euro!
