On October 1, ten Afghan service members were killed and 11 others were injured in an airstrike of the Afghan Air Force in Gareshk district in the southern part of Helmand province on the border with Iran, according to the Associated Press (AP).
Gareshk district’s local council member, Gul Agha Muslim revealed that the victims were from the Afghan Police and the Afghan Intelligence Agency.
The AP reported that during the last few last weeks, Helmand province has been witnessing clashes between the Taliban and the Afghan Army and police.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Anadolu Agency reported that 22 fighters of ISIS and other Islamic armed groups were killed and several others were injured in a military operation of the NATO and the Afghan Army in Lal Pura district of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan.
