UPDATE: 100 Ukrainian POWs returned to Ukraine

On April 10, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation reported that as with the Ukrainian side, 106 Russian servicemen had returned from the Ukrainian captivity. Kiev is yet to comment on the exchange.

According to the report, the released Russian servicemen will be transported by military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry. All the necessary medical and psychological assistance will be provided to the military.

Earlier on April 3, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova reported that five wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were transfered to Ukraine. At the end of March, the Ukrainian side also handed over to Moscow five wounded servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier, on March 31, the Russian Ombudsman said that the Ukrainian authorities were disrupting the next stage of the prisoner exchange. Data on the military personnel whom Kiev did not want to exchange for Russian prisoners were published in early March. There was a “160 to 160” exchange format, but in the end it was possible to return only 90 POWs from each side. The Ukrainian side did not want to exchange the others.

For Russia probably more humanitarian to accept those who would benefit more like cripples who have served their country well

As the neo nazis get thinned out of Ukrainian ranks, more Russia POW’s will have a better chance of making it home. Even some of the Ukrainian squaddies might benefit from less nazis in the ranks as they kill their own who won’t fight a hopeless fight for the US and nato.
