Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on June 17 that a Russian serviceman has died in a Moscow hospital from wounds received in Syria.
Junior sergeant Michail Shirokopoyas is 10th Russian serviceman that died during the operation in Syria. He was critically wounded after an attack on a Russian-Syrian column in the Aleppo province in May. He was taken to a Moscow hospital and but died from injured on June 7.
Shirokopoyas was recommended for an Order of Courage posthumously.
