Around 3.11 million people fled the country as refugees and 1.17 million left as economic migrants.
The Syrian Center for Policy Research (SCPR) think tank said in a report published today that more than 1 in 10 Syrian has died and nearly half of the Arab republic’s population has been displaced as the conflict enters its fifth year.
“The loss of lives due to the conflict remains the most catastrophic visible and direct impact of the ongoing crisis in Syria, that 11.5 per cent of the population inside Syria were killed or injured due to the armed-conflict,” the SCPR said in their report.
The SCPR report also said that 3.11 million people fled the country as refugees and 1.17 million left as economic migrants.
