Eleven Turkish service members involved in Ankara’s operation against Kurdish militais in the Syrian area of Afrin were killed and eleven others were injured on Saturday (February 10), according to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF).
Two service members were killed when a T129 ATAK attack helicopter was shot down by YPG/YPJ fighters. The helicopter crashed in the Turkish province of Hatay.
The rest of Turkish military personnel was killed or injured in clashes with Kurdish YPG/YPJ forces in the Afrin area.
On February 11, the TAF’s general staff claimed that 1,266 ‘terrorists’ have been ‘neutralized’ in Afrin since the start of Operation Olive Branch on January 20.
The contrast between carnaval festivities here and the gruesome attacks by turks against syrian kurds is overwhelming.
It is well turkish forces and other islamists are paying an increasingly heavy price for their proposed ethnic cleansing.

Of course they have. The real question though is, do they have the will? America has overwhelming firepower and the biggest deployable military in the world. And yet it can’t beat insurgents in Afghanistan. It only has a thirst for quick victories, not long wars of attrition. Turkey might have, as defeating the Kurds is a matter of national survival, but then again Erdogan is on shaky grounds, as proven by how much he needs to stifle dissent and muzzle the media and the internet. Leaders who need to do that are weak leaders, not strong ones.
Your comparison of US in Afghanistan and Afrin is wrong.
US do not have sufficient ground troops to take on the Talibans well spread over a huge country while in Afrin it is only a small area. Turkish troops are full force on the ground and fighting a small area with air power .
Another major difference is the Talibans are seasoned guerrila fighters , the Kurds are not but more on door to door fighting which can be easily identified and destroyed.
That is why US will never win in Afghanistan . They can fight forever.

Turkey lost 73? 74? Soldiers during the Euphrates Shield Operation. And in Olive Branch Operation; with this 11 casulties, total number is 33.
There is a difference though. Russia mainly used SOFs as officers on the ground. Turkey too used SOFs as officers but during the urban warfare lots of Special Operation Police and Special Operation Gendarme were used as COMBAT units.(This goes for Euphrates Shield op.)
As for the Olive Branch Operation, the units being used are 1.Again, SOFs as officers on the ground, 2.Commando units that are trained to fight in the mountainous area. Most of the casulties are from these commando units.
It must be noted though Euphrates Shield op. was against a 3.000 strong ISIS force; Olive Branch op. is against a 10.000 – 12.000, which, by now, is probably around 15.000~ because reinforcements arived from other places AND i would assume recruitment process is faster now.
This op. will last AT LEAST 6 more months, with casulties over 250 for Turkey.

The casualty rate for Turkey will be much higher and is generally double times 4 and you will get closer to the actual number. Turkey will eclipse 1000 dead and wounded in this and withdraw beaten battered and bewildered.

Shia enclave Nubbol has been defended by Afrin when sunni islamists, now TFSA, besieged them from 2013 to early 2016.

Never trust numbers stated by Turkey they are all propaganda numbers so they don’t lose public support which is very split on the issue.
