On Monday, 114 gunmen have surrendered to the Syrian governemnt and settled their status in the city of Qamishli, according to the Syrian state-run news agency SANA.
“The Syrian government is keen to strengthen local reconciliations in all areas in parallel with the ongoing military operations of the Syrian Arab Army to eradicate the Takfiri terrorism and restore security and stability to the entire Syrian territory,” the report says.
This was the latest in a series of reconciliation agreements across the country. The Syrian government assisted by Russian Centre for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic is actively working to restore peace and security in the variuos parts of the country.
Reconciliation is fine but they shouldn’t be allowed to keep their weapons.

because deconfliction zones have had attacks restart indicating that militants are just buying time for later attacks.

Usually those who keep their weapons are because they join the NDF.
