An increasing dissatisfaction by Ukrainians with the state’s inability to cope with the current problems is playing into the hands of far-right radicals, who are stepping out against Kiev and may inspire a new revolution that will eventually result in the collapse of Ukraine. Armed radical factions can bring Ukraine to its end as a state even before snow falls for the first time this year, American journalist Lev Golinkin wrote for Foreign Policy. He pointed out that the vast majority of revolutions in Eastern Europe usually start as winter begins. Bad news for Poroshenko is that winter is coming.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met Saudi Arabia’s defence minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday in Sochi. According to the Russian FM Sergey Lavrov they agreed that Moscow and Riyadh should pursue common goals in Syria, including combating terrorists and ensuring the triumph of national reconciliation in Syria. An interesting fact is Saudi Arabia thawed its attitude toward Russian presence in Syria in the same day when the Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported a group of people involved in plotting a terror attack in Moscow was arrested. An improvised explosive device has been found in an appartment where the arrested people were hiding. It was defused. Diverse range of terrorist acts is a brand identity of the ISIS and other “moderate rebels” groups supported by Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the US.
A joint security operation by Russia and its five East European and Asian partners has foiled 50,000 recruitment websites linked to the ISIS terrorist network targeting Central Asian would-be jihadists. The operation, codenamed Proxi, was launched by the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to thwart ISIS recruitment program in Central Asia. The CSTO group comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Sigmar Gabriel, a minister for Economic Affairs and Energy and Vice Chancellor of Germany, called on western countries to deepen insight towards Russia’s policies. “What we don’t need is permanent ideological castigation, constant search for new reasons for conflict,” he declared at a Social Democratic Party’s meeting in Mainz. The politician stressed that resolving the Syrian conflict would be impossible without Russia. So the tactics, in which the West on the one hand is asking Moscow for help in Syria and on the other is trying to isolate it on the political arena, is completely wrong, Gabriel highlighted. Separately, he pointed out that lifting of sanctions requires full implementation of the Minsk agreement regarding the Ukraine crisis.
