On May 14, an explosion rocked Haji Bakhshi Mosque in Qala-e-Murad Bek area of Shakardara district in the Afghan capital Kabul.

The explosion, which was reportedly caused by a bomb planted inside the mosque, happened during Friday prayer. In a statement, the Afghan National Police said that 12 people were killed and 15 others were injured in the explosion.

According to the police statement, Mufti Numan, the Imam of Haji Bakhshi Mosque, was among the blast’s victims.

The explosion came on the second day of a nationwide ceasefire between the Taliban and the Afghan government. The three-day ceasefire started on May 13, the first day of the Islamic Eid al-Fitr holyday.

The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack. The armed group’s spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid held the government responsible.

Last week, at least 40 people, including children, were killed, when three explosions rocked a school in Kabul’s outskirts. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, so far.

ISIS may be responsible for the recent bombings in Kabul. The terrorist group carried out a number of similar attacks in the Afghan capital this year.

Taliban have been very quick to deny nd condemn these attacks which is unusual for them which suggests that they are not responsible or don’t approve if any of their group has done them. That leaves the most likely suspect , ISIS which would suit them to wreck the peace process and assist their masters keep the US heavily involved. The military were not happy at all when Trump ordered the troops out of Syria and they used subterfuge to return them straightaway. They were be even less happy about leaving Afghanistan and the CIA would be a little concerned about their poppy fields . Why would one bomb a girls school and a Mosque other than maximum horror and a need for more troops.
