“We expect that in the coming days new agreements will be signed as part of national reconciliation process,” the governor also said.
Daraa province governor said that more than 1,200 citizens in southwestern Syria’s Daraa province, who earlier fought against government forces, have signed a ceasefire agreement with authorities and as a result they will be able to return to normal life in near future.
“Most persons, who come from the local town of Ibta, will be able to return to normal life in the foreseeable future,” the Governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hannu of the Daraa province told the reporters.
“We expect that in the coming days new agreements will be signed as part of national reconciliation process,” the governor also said.
However, Moscow and Washington agreed ceasefire came into force at midnight local time on February 27. The UN Security Council adopted a resolution to support the cessation of hostilities backed by all 15 member-states of the UNSC. Although the ceasefire is not being applicable on ISIS and Al-Qaeda supported groups according to the USCE resolution, fights are being continued against those groups.
