About 150 US trucks carrying weapons for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), including the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), reportedly started leaving Syria late on December 19 after the Trump administration announced the withdrawal of US troops.
According to Turkish media, about 150 trucks left Syria and entered Iraq at about 2100GMT. At least a part of the trucks was carrying heavy machinery and mine cleaners.
Turkey sees the US decision to withdraw from northern Syria as an opportunity to deal with Kurdish armed groups operating in this part of the country, which is in fact remains under control of the US-led coalition. So, Ankara is closely monitoring the current developments.
On December 20, Turkish Defense Ministry Hulusi Akar said that Turkey is “intensely” preparing for an operation against the YPG.
“We have Manbij and east of the Euphrates ahead of us right now. We’re working intensely in this regard,” Akar said during his visit to Turkish forces in Doha, Qatar’s capital.
Earlier reports appeared that about 15,000 members of pro-Turkish militant groups are ready to participate in the upcoming operation.

They (Americans, Russians) finally saw that terrorising the Muslims failed, they now try to entice us through patronising words about their “victory”.
The American tactics change, as do the methods, but they will prove as futile as their previous attempts. The Muslims will endure, the Islamic State will stay as the new Nasheed name suggests: Dawlati Baqiya. Whether it is liked or loathed, the truth must not only be told, but must rise above everything, must be made clear that we are Muslims not their Shia puppets and imposters, that we are followers of the Prophet (PBUH) and Qur’an. 2. The US forces are only Km away from their last positions, as they are setting up numerous posts / forts, just across the border.
Personally, I will only believe it, when the last Yanker is out of Syria, including from Al-Tanf (PS Syrians need to totally surround the AL-Tanf area, as there are already thousands of terrorist vermin in there, TRAINED BY THE US.
They are not leaving yet, just regrouping. Leaving means load them on ships and carry them across the ocean to the US bananistan. It is not happening now. They can put them back anytime or even worse, use them in Yemen or start a new war against Iran.

The Iraqis still have a problem with Isis on their turf, and these US trucks might be on the way to help them out. – “At least a part of the trucks was carrying heavy machinery and mine cleaners” – The Iraqis have been keeping the US at arms length for a while now, but with this new development concerning the US withdrawal of troops from Syria, Iraq may be changing it’s stance on US assistance and actually asking for help, we’ll find out soon enough.
