On February 20, 2015 forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics won a large battle against the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the area of Debaltsevo in eastern Ukirane.
The main fighting took place in the period between February 14 and February 18 when local militias surrounded and defeated units of the UAF deployed in the Debaltsevo area. As a result of the fighting, the UAF was forced to withdraw suffering significant casualties.

I have been pleading with Putin to at least admit the beak-away provinces into the Russian Federation, this will not mean the end of hostilities, but ukrops will be much more careful to engage Russian forces. Wrote to him and begged for the sake of my brothers in Eastern Ukraine, no answer.
