NIghtmare? They’re laughing their asses off at that collection of old junk. Most of that stuff belongs in a museum or a classic warbird airshow. I reckon that if the IIRAF were to tour Western airshows their displays would be very popular with the crowds. All those old aircraft still flying. A spotter’s wet dream.
No, the Iranian army does not fill them with fear. If Israel had the air to air capabilities to do so it would have carpetbombed Iran already. No, the only two things that do give Bibi nightmares is Iran’s missile program and Hezbollah. Those are the stuff of his nightmares.
what i like most is that they use weapons of US origin in their parades……f-14s , f-4 ,UH helis, chinooks , a boeing refuelling plane, a super cobra attack helicopter, m113 apcs etc…….
That’s because most of their gear is still that. They just can’t seem to get anything new. Nothing from the West obviously because of the boycot, but also not much from Russia and China either, as negotiations take forever. Methinks that if they wanted to they could buy hundreds of SU-30, 32;s and 35’s from Russia next year when the UN sanctions expire. Like that. But no, the Iranians dither, bargain, reconsider and drag on forever. They much prefer to get the tech instead and then build their own. And since Russia is not in the business of only selling its tech, they also want to sell some hardware, cause Russian factory workers need jobs too, the procurement game will go on. And on. And on. And the old American gear will have to soldier on. And on. And on as well.

Will there even be a 2020 ANNUAL ARMY DAY PARADE IN IRAN will completely depend on Iran’s home grown anti-air defenses. Cause I assure you now that the Russian supplied S-300’s will never shoot down a single attacking F-22 or F-35 or F-16i. So Iran will wither hold the Trump card with their own home made air defenses, or China is going to ship their S-400’s secretly to Iran. Otherwise it will be game over for Iran. Yes Iran will still kill thousands of enemies, but hundreds of thousands of Iranian’s will die without better stuff then junk-S-300’s.
Most people can see a war is coming, except the ones who will start it, the Americans.
There will be Kentucky Fried Kentuckians laying in the street and the survivors will be asking why didn’t anybody tell me.
