At least 23 people have been killed and over 130 others have been ijnured in Sudan’s capital Khartoum after a fire triggered by an explosion tore through a factory, the government said. The fire was triggered by a blast in a gas tanker.

“Preliminary observations indicate a lack of necessary safety measures and equipment at the factory, in addition to random storage of flammable materials,” the government said in a statement commenting on the incident.
