Three French soldiers have died in Libya after their helicopter was shot down.
The soldiers were killed while carrying out “dangerous intelligence operations”, President Francois Hollande said on July 21.
The very same day, French defence ministry spokesman Stephane Le Foll confirmed France’s special forces were in Libya.
On July 21, AP reported that Islamist militants shot down a French helicopter near the city of Benghazi, quoting Libyan officials.
