Three US soldiers died in a crash of the Army National Guard helicopter in Mendon, New York. The Black Hawk helicopter crashed during a ‘routine training mission’ in the evening (an ordinary ‘routine mission’ amid the inauguration of Joe Biden), according to the state’s National Guard.
The UH-60 Black Hawk medical evacuation helicopter involved in the incident was based at the Army Aviation Support Facility at Rochester International Airport.
The incident is under investigation.

The stupid deadbeat loser fuckers have lost an Apache and a Black Hawk in a 24 hour window that we know of. Imagine the losses when the real resistance picks up. 3 less garbage that we know of.
I’d have loved to salvage the parts from that bird. No use for the pig meat though.

UH-60 suffers from micro torque loss, its a 40+year old design, instead of fixing the problem they did a software upgrade so warnings wont go off in case it happens, most the time its only a fraction of a second, you wont even notice, but other times you simply fall out of the air. well considering how many Mi-8’s and 17’s have crashed yea it is stuff like this happens all the time in my home nation we have lost more troops due to those flying trash can’s (Mi-8’s and Mi-17’s) then we have in both iraq and afghanistan combined…

no not even close i am from europe my nation is a NATO state and we maintain out choppers well issue is that the helicopter itself is the problem it has killed the most imout of ppl of any other model in history.
Quite a few old Warsaw Pact states still do operate Russian equipment and have had issues in terms of maintenance and reliability. I only mentioned India, because it has crashed over half of its MIGS, Sukhois and MI-8/17. They lost three Russian aircraft in one skirmish with the Pakistanis just recently. I believe it was MIG21 Bison, a SU-30 MKI and a MI-17 chopper.

ummmm what exactly is a “disney story” in my statment? Its very easy to just google the safety record of the Mi-8 sireis for helis my nation’s military has lost over 30 good men and women to those flying trashcans.
Even SEAL and Delta are using Russian helos in Afghanistan. UH-60 production number 4000+ Mi-8/Mi-17 30,000+ Yet its called crash hawk for a reason… Better luck next time…
ummmmmmm you do realise the Mi-8 is ainchent right? It was developed in the 1960’s so no shit alot are made but not even close to 30.000 acording to internet sources ~17.000 have been made give or take. Oh and btw SEAL and Delta force operatives use the Mi-8 in rear ocaisons due to its larger payloade capasity but that still dosent make its horrible safety record any better.
It has a much better safety record than the crash hawk. Mi-8/17 have a total production number of 30,000+ And still in production… Crash hawk was designed in the early 70s. Not much younger yet still inferior. Also Mi-8/17s still have major refit programs, the crash hawk couldnt even iron out the micro torque loss issue in 40+ years. Over and out…
what part of Mi-8 saries you dont understand? But ok for arguments sake lets take in both ofc they will be produced more since the both are used for civil and military uses and not to mention its over a decade older then the UH-60 (also idk why you are directly compareing them to echother since they are not in the same weight class) but ok lets take just the Mi-17’s safety record into account 45 crashes since 2000 vs the UH-60’s 32 crashes form 1981 till 2021……for the love of god use google its not illegal you know…and keep in mind thats just the Mi-17 and that is only form the year 2000…now what did you say about the “crash hawk” again? if the UH-60 is a “crash hawk” then the Mi-17 and Mi-8 are flying coffins.
