On Monday, a source in Kirkuk Province reported that 30 ISIS members, including prominent leaders, were killed and 15 others were wounded in an explosion due to a defect in an explosive belt southwest of Kirkuk.

 “A group of ISIS members wearing explosive devices in Robaida village in al-Rashad vicinity were preparing to attack the security forces in Hamrin Mountains and the oil fields of Alas and Ajil in Salahuddin Province,” said the source.

The source also added that  “an explosion took place due to a defect in one of the explosive belts,” pointing out that, “The explosion resulted in the killing of 30 ISIS members including prominent leaders, in addition to wounding 15 others.”

Since June 2014, Iraq has been observing ISIS terrorist activities. The US-led coalition started its operations allegedly hitting ISIS, although many believe ISIS is a creation of the west.

However, the 66-member coalition has been failing to control ISIS terrorism, when a concerted push by Iraqi forces are dealing terrorists and forcing it out of the central city of Ramadi, the capital of the western Anbar Province.
