The Russian military’s Sever (North) Group of Forces have neutralized hundreds of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk direction, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on November 29.
In its daily briefing, the ministry said that Ukraine’s 21st, 41st, 44th, and 47th mechanised brigades, the 17th Heavy Mechanised Brigade, the 5th Tank Brigade, 80th , 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, the 36th Marine Brigade as well as 112th, 116th, 117th, and 129th territorial defence brigades took heavy losses close to the settlements of Aleksandria, Viktorovka, Lebedevka, Leonidovka, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novoivanovka, Plyokhovo, and Sverdlikovo.
The ministry also reported heavy Russian air and artillery strikes against gatherings of Kiev forces near the settlements of Bogdanovka, Goncharovka, Guyevo, Daryino, Kositsa, Kruglenkoye, Kurilovka, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Plyokhovo, Sverdlikovo, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye in Kursk, as well as close to the settlements of Basovka, Belovody, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Loknya, Malaya Rybitsa, and Pavlovka in the Ukrainian region of Sumy.
“In the past 24 hours, the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] losses have amounted to over 340 troops. One armoured personnel carrier, one armoured fighting vehicle, 12 motor vehicles, one artillery gun, and six mortars were neutralized,” the ministry said.
Separately, the ministry released videos showing some of the strikes that hit Kiev forces in Kursk over the last few days.
Kiev forces launched a surprise attack from Sumy into Kursk last August. The Russian military is currently conducting a counter-attack to clear the region.
According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 36,600 troops, 223 tanks, 158 infantry fighting vehicles, 123 armored personnel carriers, 1,201 armored fighting vehicles, 1,056 motor vehicles, 305 artillery guns, 40 launchers, including 11 American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, 13 air defense systems, seven transport-loading vehicles, 70 electronic warfare stations, 13 counter-battery radars, four aerial radars, 27 engineering vehicles, including 13 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, six armored recovery vehicle, and one command post vehicle.
