Over 35,000 refugees have returned to the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Aleppo with the assistance of Russia’s Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Sides in Syria, Head of the Russian General Staff’s Main Operations Department Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy said on March 30.
“A total of 3,870 people have returned to the Aleppo province from the Idlib de-escalation zone through the humanitarian corridor near the communities of Abu-Duhur and Tell Sultan. Work is underway to restore life support facilities in the province of Deir Ezzor under the control of the Committee for the Governance of the Eastern Territories and with the assistance of the Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Sides,” he said adding that a total of 31,171 refugees have returned to the eastern bank of the Euphrates.
As of now, 234 statements of the cessation of hostilities have been signed and 2,484 communities have joined the reconciliation process, according to Rudskoy.
CENTCOM prefers to keep their refugees under control and concentrated in death camps like Rukban and al Hol. Makes spying and recruiting easier – no need to run all over the country. It’s easy to recruit someone with a starving family when a CENTCOM paycheck is more than enough to buy death camp black market food for them.
No fighting-age males left in your refugee family in the death camps? Sorry, you better get a part-time job or sell one of your 12-year-old daughters to those Saudi that stop by looking for a bride. Either that or starve, because there’s no free food in SDFistan.
Trouble is that you need a good portion of innocent civilians mixed in with the head-chopper refugee families, otherwise someone can just claim you’re harboring the head-choppers. The innocent civilians always want to leave. You have to make sure there are enough internally-organized Wahhabi gangs in the camps to prevent that, and back them up with plenty of SDF or US ‘protection’ outside the camp’s wire. That arrangement will also prevent the the Syrians from trying to rescue any of their citizens from inside your death camps. Because the refugees are in CENTCOM territory – they’re war booty. Assad doesn’t get any of them back, even if they want to leave.
