40 military personnel have been killed since the start the ongoing anti-ISIS operation in Egypt’s Nortn Sinai, the country’s military stated in a report released in early November. At the same time, the military eliminated 445 terrorists, mostly ISIS members, in the framework of the operation.

The North Sinai city of Arish is among the main concerns of Egyptian security forces. The countryside of the city still remains the area where ISIS cells operate. Another place with multiple security issues is the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
