According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights the deadly attacks, in which more than 49 people were killed, took place in government-held areas.

Syria’s official news agency SANA reported the incident as well on Thursday, saying that the fire took the lives of at least four civilians and wounded four others.

At least 27 civilians were killed in a series of airstrikes that hit a hospital and nearby buildings in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo shortly before midnight on Wednesday, the Britain-based observatory said.

In another report from the Paris-based medical aid group Doctors Without Borders, 14 patients and medical staff, including at least three doctors were among the killed people in the airstrikes.

Reportedly, more than 150 people have died in the clashes between the government and terrorists since last Friday.

Urgent steps against the terror and to rescue the ceasefire were requested from the US and Russia by an envoy from the Syria Staffan de Mistura on Wednesday.

Peace talks were started but abandoned when foreign-backed militants declared war to the government. Following this, the Syrian Foreign Minister alleged Tukey and other countries in arming the terrorists.

The prospects of possible peace talks are about to be discussed in the Swiss city of Geneva.

A high-ranking source in the Russian Foreign Ministry told Russia’s Interfax that de Mistura intends to launch the next round of the intra-Syrian talks between May 10 and May 15.

De Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict since 2011, which has furthermore displaced over half of Syria’s prewar population.
