5 Russian Servicemen, 4 Journalists Injured In IED Blast In Syria’s Deir Ezzor City

5 Russian servicemen and 4 journalists were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor on November 6, the Russian Defense Ministry has reported.

The IED was planted by ISIS members before the liberation of Deir Ezzor city on November 3.

“On November 6, when Russian journalists worked in a dwelling quarter in the city of Deir ez-Zor (Syria), a controlled landmine was detonated by terrorists. As a result, four Russian journalists, namely Ilya Ushenin (NTV), Timur Voronov (NTV), Konstantin Khudoleyev (Zvezda) and Dmitry Starodubsky (Zvezda), and five officer of the International Mine Action Center, who were clearing the area of mines, received wounds,” the defense ministry’s statement on the issue reads.

All wounded were taken to the Russian airbase in Khmeimim where they received medical aid.

According to NTV, Ilya Ushenin and Timur Voronov are already in Russia.

That’s what it means to report from “the ground”. Attacked while filming demining – russian soldiers clearing Deir Ezzor to allow Syrians to come back in their homes. ISIS are rats, but their founders are simply snakeheads.
