The United Nations refugee agency reported on May 27 that more than 4,200 Mosul citizens fled to Syria in May.

The United Nations expexts that more than 50,000 people could flee Mosul amid the Iraq’s military operation to re-take the city from the ISIS terrorist group.

Spokeswoman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Melissa Fleming, noted the United Nations is preparing for thousands of people to flee to Syria, escaping the increasing violence of ISIS and dire humanitarian conditions in the area of Fallujah.
