More units of the 5th Assault Corps of the Syrian Arab Army have deployed to the eastern bank of the Euphrates for battle against ISIS, the 5th Assault Corps’ ISIS Hunters media wing reported.
According to the released statement, ISIS Hunters members captured an ISIS radio station that allows to monitor ISIS communications in the area. The satement went further saying that negotiations that this allowed to confirm that ISIS is negotiating with some “side” also operating in the area, most likely the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
“Hunters themselves also conduct combat reconnaissance the ISIS controlled territory. The Commander Muhammad made two raids in the area of Dahla and Jadid bu Khair. We managed to capture IS radio station. It gave us an opportunity to intercept IS radio communications.
We heard how IS command deceives ordinary militants promising them victory and looting from Syria after the of negotiations with “FRIENDS”.
But days of ISIS are counted. Now it time to clear the Al Busayrah pocket completely before any of ISIS rats would leave it. Our reinforcements are ready to advance,” the statement reads.
The US-led coalition and its “partners” have repeatedly denied any deals with ISIS. In this case, it is not clear how to describe the widely-known developments in Manbij, Tabqah, Raqqah and now in the Omar oil fields area.
The ISIS Hunters also repelled an attack of ISIS militants near the village of Khusham on October 21.

well one can notice this easily….terrorists are a well trained (by whom?)and well equipped (by whom?) force …no ‘rebel’ force could become such a serious threat.it is rather amazing i think.
Yeah, the best equipped terrorist force I’ve ever heard of; complete with logistics, weapons from several Nato countries, strategic information and, on occasion as is needed to advance the terrorist against the Syrian people, an ‘accidental’ bombing or two of the Syrian army positions.
And well-resourced! Could say best-resourced. Most national armies capacity to mount full-scale operations is counted in weeks. After that the economy is at a breaking point and huge economic restructuring of the entire nation is required. Pay-cuts for everyone combined with massive tax hikes brings in martial law and all manufacturing capacity is put under military requisition orders. But hey, Daesh keeps fighting year after year like they have infinite resources! This fact alone proves beyond reasonable doubt that Daesh is funded and resourced by state players. We all more or less know this, but it is good to know that the situation is completely provable by this circumstance. It is quite impossible for a fighting force to continue so long without a massive input in money and materiel from abroad.

It is too small a force to be called reinforcenents. I would call it more troop rotation maybe. As they are, the Syrian government forces on the Eastern banks of the Euphrates river are locked and trapped on the shore line of the river blocked by the US/ISIS/SDF terror coalition. They would need to beef up their forces to hundreds of units at least if they want to break the encirclement and face off with the terror coaition as is their legitimate right as the sole legitimate military authority in Syria.

Exactly! If Russia wants it could help the Syrian government troops launch a surprise attack from the re-enforced position in Mayadin and easily break through the thin line of the US/ISIS/SDF coalition forces controlled areas thinly stretching towards the Omar oil fields, and encirle the terror coalition occupying the Omar oil fields completely. That would be the most logical military strategy. But I doubt Russia would do that. It is too much concerned with hurting the feelings of its ‘Western partners’ even after the latter murdered its high ranking general!
maybe you are right if your goal is to throw away the fforts of 2 years of Russian involvement. ISIS, HTS etc are still very active and pose a huge threat. SAA lines are so long one wonders how can they keep them. so in such a logistics nightmare situation you start anther fight with the Kurds?even without having in mind the US support they will get….its a strategic suicide
Indeed , I totally agree. There are many voices here, some with good intentions regarding the SAA I am sure , but the SAA are not fighting a fantasy war as the US does. The SAA must not dilute its resources by attacking every gauntlet that is thrown down by the US Terror Coalition. This is what the US/Israel want.
The Kurds are holding vast territories in Syria where they are a minority, and merely make up 6% of the total Syrian population. The Russians have had positive relations with the PKK going back to the Cold War days, but the Kremlin’s support for the “federalization” in Syria, where the Kurds make up such a small minority, is a contemptuous way to treat their Syria ally.
Russia remains reluctant to step beyond its modest deployment of aircraft, following its publicly declared counterterrorist mission. The Russians are contending with their theater disadvantage in aircraft viz-a-viz the US-led coalition & the Zionists, while attempt to build new trade bridges with Europe and the USA.
Earlier this year, Russia was reluctant to accept Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s proposal for a military alliance. This offer might still be worth accepting, however. If the Chinese were willing, they have a sufficient force of modern aircraft to overturn the disparity in Middle Eastern skies. The Chinese could achieve this without intervening directly in the Middle East. If they merely deployed proportionate numbers of aircraft to western Russia, the RuAf would have a freer hand. If so, the Russians might find enough aircraft available to remedy the disparity in the skies above the Middle East.
The sooner the parasitism and killing end there, the better for all peoples in the region.

With respect to SAA, they still have long way to go and learn and be good fighting force. The SAA and SyAir needs better military hardware and for sure needs a lot better General staff.
The SAA is doing far better than the US Coalition forces would have done in the same constrained circumstances Joe.

Certainly explains the rapid movement of SDF forces without any serious fighting. What a fantastic fighting force the SDF, not to mention battlefield strategy, make friends with Isis and then tout your succsess in ‘fighting’. You have to appreciate the ‘looting’ part too. Of course when Isis and their friends, the US backed SDF collude together, that paints them as the terrorists that everyone pretty much already comprehends. It also makes them fair game for anyone actually fighting terrorists.
It’ll be interesting indeed if the SDF are ever able to hold onto territory, without the assistance of Isis, whether they’ll be able to keep their Isis friends, attracted by the prospect of looting, from kicking the SDF out again.
Listening on Daesh radio comms was great coup. So they really have friends there in Syria, and we know that it isn’t SAA, Hezbollah, nor Iraqi or Iranian militias. So who is left? It is not a hard analysis to make. The emperor has less and less clothes every day!
Good luck to them. But It’s pretty obvious that Dez Offensive South has been underresourced. Maybe, SAA was probably hoping that Iraqis would wipe out Isis, but that has not happened.
