88 Taliban Fighters Killed In Ongoing Operation Of Afghan Army

On October 6, Executive Officer of Pamir 20 Battalion in Kunduz province Sayed Qurban Musawi announced that the Afghan Army has recaptured Qerghez, Gombaz and Ganjak villages in Imam Sahib district from the Taliban. The advance is a result of “Operation Pamir-14” that was launched by the Afghan Army and the Afghan Air Force week ago against the Taliban in the northern province.

Musawi also announced that the Afghan Army has killed so far 88 fighters of the Taliban and injured 78 others. Afghan sources confirmed that the military operation is still ongoing in Kunduz province.

“The Operation Pamir-14 is ongoing. So far a few villages have been cleared of the Taliban. Also 88 Taliban fighters were killed and 78 others were wounded [During the operation],” Musawi said according to the Afghan news TV channel Tolo.

In a related development, the Taliban media agency al-Emara released on October 5 a video of Taliban fighters in recently captured areas in Chimtal and Chahr Bolak districts of Balkh province also in northern Afghanistan. The video showed vehicles, motorbikes and weapons that were captured by Taliban fighters during their attack in the province.

Unlike before, The Taliban been lately advancing in the northern parts of Afghanistan away from the border with Pakistan. This proves that the Taliban in relaying on local support more than any support from any foreign sides.
