Only an idiot would fail to catch the meaning that was hidden behind his thinly veiled and biblically based White-supremacist symbolism, in which the predominantly White or Caucasian, or European, countries are a “garden,” and the world outside is a “jungle” that young people in the “garden” must protect against the seething masses in the “jungle” outside, because those outside people reproduce themselves more and will increasingly be trying to get into the “garden,” invading it. This threat is, in biblical reference, Satan’s threat to the Garden of Eden, in the Judeo-Christian myth. This high official of the EU was speaking these thinly veiled bigoted things on 13 October 2022, in Bruges Belgium. He said (and I shall add within non-italicized brackets some brief attempts at clarification of his most muddle-headed clauses, so as to interpret those in a way that is consistent with the rest of his statement, because he is obviously muddle-headed):
Bruges is a good example of the European garden. Yes, Europe is a garden. We have built a garden. Everything works. It is the best combination of political freedom, economic prosperity and social cohesion that the humankind has been able to build – the three things together. And here, Bruges is maybe a good representation of beautiful things, intellectual life, wellbeing.
The rest of the world – and you know this very well, … – is not exactly a garden. Most of the rest of the world is a jungle, and the jungle could invade the garden. The gardeners should take care of it, but they will not protect the garden by building walls. A nice small garden surrounded by high walls in order to prevent the jungle from coming in is not going to be a solution. Because the jungle has a strong growth capacity, and the wall will never be high enough in order to protect the garden.
The gardeners have to go to the jungle. Europeans have to be much more engaged with the rest of the world. Otherwise, the rest of the world will invade us, by different ways and means.
Yes, this is my most important message: we have to be much more engaged with the rest of the world.
We are privileged people. We built a combination of these three things – political freedom, economic prosperity, social cohesion – and we cannot pretend to survive as an exception. It has to be a way of supporting the others facing the big challenges of our time. …
I am happy to participate in what can be said – and you said that [is] – a “moment of creation”, to be “present at the creation”. To be “present at the creation” are some words that were said many years ago by one of the most famous diplomats, George Kennan [one of the most prominent American ideologista of the Cold War] – in George Kennan’s memoirs. And these memoirs are still considered the best insider account of the framing of the United States policy in the post-war – with post war, I mean post-World War II.
Now, we are definitely out of the Cold War and the post-Cold War. The post-Cold War has ended with the Ukrainian war, with the Russian aggression against Ukraine. And we are certainly living also a “moment of creation” of a new world. Because this war is changing a lot of things, and certainly it is changing the European Union. This war will create a different European Union, from different perspectives.
There are people who say that this war means the end for the European Union to have a foreign policy because we are following blindly the United States. This narrative exists. Yesterday, in the plane, I was reading nice articles explaining this approach.
And from my side, it is just the contrary: this war has been an occasion for the European Union to be more assertive and to push for the creation of a European stand – from the foreign policy side and also from the military and defence perspective. …
This position is a combination of what could be a Foreign [Affairs] Minister and a Defence Minister – both. And that is a very good thing because more than ever, foreign policy and defence policy go hand in hand.
Here we are, launching this European Diplomatic Academy. And it has to be clear that the people supporting Ukraine and the European Union and the Member States, and the United Stated and NATO are not bluffing neither. And any nuclear attack against Ukraine will create an answer, not a nuclear answer but such a powerful answer from the military side that the Russian Army will be annihilated, and Putin should not be bluffing.
This is a serious moment in the history, and we have to show our unity, and our strength and our determination. Complete determination. …
The big difference between us and an important part of the rest of the world is that we have institutions. …
The European experience is about that: it is the integration of different identities in order to make [it] possible to live together, not in a confrontational way [with one-another; confrontation must be only with the outside].
The history of Europe has been the confrontation of identities. The Catholics against the Protestants, the French against the Germans, the Germans against the French, the Spanish against [inaudible]. We have been able to overcome this battle of identity. Today, being French or German is not something that puts people one against the other. …

An interesting aspect in his speech there is his underlying assumption that Russia is NOT a part of Europe. Furthermore, he treated Russia as being part of the “jungle” and endangering the “garden.” Russia had, in fact, defeated Europe’s (Germany’s) Adolf Hitler — a man who agreed with that EU official’s views, about Whites, or “Aryans,” being descended from Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and the snake there representing, to Hitler, the outsiders who threaten that idyllic place, which Hitler called “Paradise.” And this high EU official even agreed with Hitler that, somehow, Russians were NOT “Aryans” but instead are an inferior race who endanger the Aryans and are really part of the “jungle” and thus must be kept out, and maybe ultimately invaded, by the “Aryans,” like Hitler did (in his “Operation Barbarossa”), and enslaved by the “Aryans” because Russians are instead “jungle” people, who have to be conquered and restrained in order to protect this “garden.”
However, this high EU official is incredibly ignorant, because Russia (the European portion of it, which is everything west of its Ural Mountains) is the largest European nation, both in terms of landmass and in terms of population. By his excluding Russia from “Europe,” he excludes the largest Euroean country (even merely Russia’s European part is that).
As is stated here, Russia spans the northern part of the Eurasian continent; 77% of Russia’s area is in Asia, the western 23% of the country is located in Europe. European Russia occupies almost 40% of the total area of Europe.
The European part of Russia covers an area of 3,960,000 km², making it somewhat larger than India, or about half the size of the Contiguous United States. (The total area of Russia — the world’s largest country — is 17.1 million km².) As is stated here, the second-largest European country is Ukraine: 603,500 km². Third is France: 551,695. 4th Spain: 505,992. 5th Sweden: 450,295. 6th Germany: 357,114. 7th Finland: 338,424.
The European part of Russia has a population of 113 million people (in 2020), making it the most populous country in Europe. About 77% of Russia’s total population lives west of the Ural Mountains. Therefore, almost all of Russia’s largest cities are in the western part of the country. These cities are important social, political, economic, industrial and cultural centers.
As is stated here, the 2nd-most populous European country is Germany: 83,783,942. 3rd UK: 67,886,011. 4th France: 65,273,511. 5th Italy: 60,461,826. 6th Spain: 46,754,778. 7 Ukraine: 43,733,762.

Back in March he told El Mundo that “if we don’t want the jungle to eat our garden, we have to wake up.'”
On 7 February 2023, RT headlined “Top EU diplomat can’t hide his racist worldview – Lavrov: While criticizing Moscow, Josep Borrell predictably insulted Africa, Russia’s foreign minister said” and reported:
Dismissing African countries as easy to manipulate is ‘on brand’ for Josep Borrell, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed on Tuesday. He was responding to the EU foreign policy chief’s accusations that Moscow was “spreading misinformation.”
Borrell had addressed EU diplomats earlier in the day, claiming Russia was using “information manipulation and interference” as weapons of war. Noting that Lavrov was visiting Mali and Eritrea, Borrell called them “easy countries” for Moscow to “spread lies about who is guilty for what is happening” in Ukraine.

“We have nothing to hide or to be ashamed of,” the Russian foreign minister added. “We were at the source of Africa’s liberation from the colonial yoke. The Soviet Union was one of the main initiators of the declaration to grant independence to colonized countries and peoples in 1960. And it was not an imitation, as [former UK PM] Boris Johnson recently called the Minsk agreements, but a real historical act that sealed the end of colonial rule.”

This narrative exists.’ Then he denied it was so, because ‘this war has been an occasion for the European Union to be more assertive and to push for the creation of a European stand.’ And that ‘stand’ has been to copy America’s sanctions against Russia and make them the EU’s own.” And that “stand,” and those sanctions — copied from America’s against Russia — are destroying Europe.
This stand is boomeranging against the EU and benefitting American arms-manufacturers and now even American manufacturing in general, and thus completing America’s destruction of Europe. That’s the reality of “The Atlantic Alliance.” Europe is part of EurAsia — NOT part of America. America (the group of people who run it behind the scenes) is its enemy. And Borrell is such a fool that he doesn’t recognize any of this. Maybe this is one of the reasons why he has been appointed to the EU’s highest posts. The people who run the U.S. need that type of person there.
