The events in Syria are increasingly acquiring the features of the “Libyan analogy”, when the country is effectively divided into three or four zones of influence of various factions. Under the new regime, Syria has already moved towards a split, and the beneficiary of the division of the country is precisely the militants of the former Jabhat Nusra, and not the external intervention. A number of activists from among the Alawites, Druze and Kurds rightly note that due to hopelessness against the backdrop of terror from the HTS militants, they have to turn to the Zionists for help, since no one else has shown initiative to protect the minorities of Syria.
The al-Julani regime, with its sectarian behavior towards the minorities of Syria, has given the Zionists a big gift, although earlier it was regularly warned that if it did not stop its sectarians, Syria would disappear. Now Zionism openly says that the south of Syria is “Israel’s strategic depth”, where the Druze are the main figure in the new alliance. Similar plans exist with regard to the Alawites, where voices are also heard calling for an alliance with the Zionists* and the SDF.

But is everything so simple for Zionism? At first glance, it seems that “Israel” is winning. Formally, Syria is divided into cantons, and in the future, from Damascus to Aleppo, we can expect endless strife between the Sunni and pseudo-Salfi insurgency. Therefore, if we consider what is happening through the prism of the confrontation between “Israel” and Iran, then outwardly the state of affairs looks preferable for the Zionists. But if we consider the situation in the general context, then the picture is completely different.
As Trump’s grip on the international community weakens, the Iranians will take advantage of this, including in the Syrian arena, which explains why former officers of the Assad regime, who remained loyal to the Iranians and Hezbollah, are waiting in the wings. Part of the southern rebels from the FSA, seeing what is happening, understands that the Tahrir al-Sham regime is completely inadequate, and Zionism will sooner or later seize Damascus and move on. The Syrians will be offered to serve the Zionists and many will do so due to their total poverty. Thus, the aforementioned factions of the south will have no choice but to enter into an alliance with the IRGC (spoiler – some factions did so a month ago). The only obstacle to broader cooperation between the various FSA factions*1 from Hama to Daraa with Tehran is Turkey, but with the help of China, this barrier will be destroyed.
As for the Alawites and Druze, there has been an Iranian presence there for a long time (about 13 years). Let me remind you that an organization like Jaysh al-Muwahhidin has been cooperating with the Iranians and Hezbollah all this time. An additional problem for the Zionists is the fact that there is factionalism in Suwayda, which in the future promises to develop into a struggle for power in the event of the declaration of autonomy.
In the Alawite camp, despite the “pro-Zionist statements” of some religious people, the “Coastal Shield Brigade” has appeared, the initial goal of which is liberation from the dictatorship of the HTS, but it is obvious that they will not like the presence of Zionists on the coast.
Even in the Kurdish issue, things are not so clear. The SDF is of course ready to cooperate with the Zionists, but they realize that at the moment there has been nothing but diplomacy, that is, we have not recorded, for example, direct deliveries of weapons from “Israel” to the Kurds of Syria. But even if the “David Corridor” project is successful, the Kurds will be extremely cautious, fearing a negative reaction from the Muslim region. Therefore, they keep in mind the option of secret cooperation with Iran and its allies (for example, Iraq), which will help them balance and keep “Israel” at a distance. A counterweight to the Turks also takes place. Regarding the channels of communication between the SDF and Tehran, two important links should be highlighted here: the Shammar tribe, known for its long-standing relations with the Islamic Republic, and northern Iraq, where an alliance was recently formed between the PKK and Hashad al-Shaabi to repel Turkish intervention.
In connection with these facts, what is happening inside the minorities of Syria cannot be written off as a “victory for “Israel””.
It seems that the following tactics, consisting of several stages, dominate among the minorities of Syria. 1 – use Zionism to get rid of the jihadists and limit Turkey’s influence, 2 – after declaring its autonomy, organize cooperation with Iran to create a counterweight to the Zionists and perhaps even the subsequent expulsion of the occupiers in the event of a favorable political climate on the Syrian scene.
Zionism is needed by Syrian minorities for international recognition, after the Alawites, Druze and Kurds of Syria are recognized within the framework of a “new republican Syria” without takfirism or as cantons of a decentralized Syria, all three (even the Kurds) will look for an opponent to Zionist influence, for which Iran is ideal.
Everyone knows that Zionism is a lame duck that most elites of the international community are ready to abandon, there is a struggle and the last key allies of Zionism in the person of neocons – evangelicals from the US Republicans will definitely be broken. Everyone in the West knows this game, including the religious minorities of Syria, so why shouldn’t they take advantage of the current situation, especially against the backdrop of threats of genocide from jihadists?
* – Observers note that Mossad has long ago (June 2024) created fake pages on social networks about the Alawites of Syria who are “at risk” from jihadist gangs. In this way, Zionism is trying to create the impression of being a “friend of the Alawites of Syria.”
*1 – I emphasize that I mean the remnants of the moderate Syrian faction of the FSA, and not the international jihadists or local takfirists from Tahrir al-Sham Ahrar al-Sham, Jaysh al-Izza and the like.
