Additional Details Of Clashes Between Government Forces And US-backed Militants Near Al-Tanaf

On December 14, Syrian pro-government sources revealed additional details about clashes between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and US-backed militants near the US-controlled zone of al-Tanaf in eastern Syria.

According to the activists, a convoy of the Revolutionary Commando Army approached a position of the SAA 1st Division outside of the 55km de-escalation zone on December 13. This action triggered a response from the SAA which attacked the convoy killing three fighters.

From its side, the Revolutionary Commando Army claimed in a new official statement that its fighters attacked a unit of the SAA which was trying to establish a fortified positions inside the 55km de-escalation zone.

However, the US-led coalition didn’t confirm the Revolutionary Commando Army’s claims, and didn’t participate in the clashes. This led many local observers into doubting the group’s claims.

Pro-government activists suggested that the US-backed group was carrying out a smuggling operation when it approached the SAA position by mistake. The Revolutionary Commando Army leadership is well-known for being involved in such illegal actions.

Curious, these ones are revolutionaries, the others that arrived in Hajin are the anarcho marxists of PKK, may be they would like to connect, no? Here nobody reads the Koran, only Bakunine and Marx, pardon, the writings of Ocalan and the smugglers manual, two basic texts to build a new country.

Tudor Miron

They connect no problem. Half of SDF consists of daesh rats. All it took was a bit of shaving and uniform change. Weapons and ideology remain unchanged – delivered by US.

” the Revolutionary Commando Army claimed in a new official statement that its fighters attacked a unit of the SAA which was trying to establish a fortified positions inside the 55km de-escalation zone.”

I suppose that with US Military map reading training the terrorists could end up anywhere :)

Tudor Miron

I wish SF would post RuMod’s answer to US ambassador in Colombia (regarding Tu-160 White Swan) that one made my day. Lol.

The welfare of the United States depends entirely upon spreading killing and destruction.

Jens Holm

Are You spreading killing and destruction or living there ?

R Trojson

So who do we believe? I am leaning toward the SAA on this one. Suspect if they were inside the 55KM zone the US would have expressed at least some interest in the conflict. US wants SAA to establish control over territory outside the 55km zone providing they fight ISIS and other terrorists instead of supporting them.

We must agree SAA establishing control over their territory surrounding al Tanaf is a step in the right direction. If any of those bogeymen that you see step one foot out of al Tanaf then the SAA can cut it off. Why has the Russian coalition failed to do that so far. Have to believe the bad guys are driving around in military vehicles that show up on Russian military surveillance. Perhaps the bad guys are wandering around on foot or hitching a ride with the locals. The whole situation makes the Russian coalition look like a joke.

Jens Holm

Supported by broken streetlamps having not even electricity.

Jens Holm

I am like that too. Its outside the zone = no protection apart from maybee in agreements.
