According to pro-government soruces, additional units of Russian military advisers have been recently deployed at the frontline in northern Lattakia.
The deployment took place in the area south of the militant-held town of Kbani after a series of failed Syrian Army attacks on militatnt positions there.

The southern Idlib operation at least had some success, enjoying minor penetration of Jihadi lines and making them bleed for Kafr Nabudah. All the Latakia operation seems to have achieved is making the SAA bleed.
Considering that the 4th division is in charge, which for years failed to make much headway in East Ghouta it would appear that the 4th division is not as good as advertised when it comes to offensive operations against fortified positions in constrained urban or mountain conditions. The Tigers seem to be way better at it.
Are there any civilians left in Kabani ? They will constrain the type and quantity of munitions used to defeat the defenders.

I wouldn’t put it past Al Nusra to keep some civvies around as human shields. Or in case they need some victims of a ‘chemical attack’.
That makes sense. Like the local Christians who went missing after the US terror gangs captured them a week or so before the faked chemical attack in Khan Shakun last year.

These so called advisers are really Russian army commandos trying to break the dead lock at Lattikia..
At least these Russian commandos will give the “death lock” to the Muslim Brotherhood jihadists in Idlib. Not like the American commandos east of the Euphrates River, who seem to attack the SAA rather than the ISIS Wahhabis.

Hopefully they’re advisors and spotters ready to coordinate a massive combined air and ground assault by the Russians and SAA, hopefully they’re not there advising the SAA to stop attacking the rebels.
US is building forces in the region on the pretext of containing Iran, the real purpose is to wage a proxy terror war and bog Russia into a long and costly ground war against Turkish supported terrorists. Russia needs to use airpower more liberally and re-think its flawed policy of selling weapons to Turkey, a NATO lapdog of the US. Russia would be better off supporting Iran and selling it modern weapons. Iran is Russia’s best bet. Despite intense US pressure, even India has not bowed and maintained close links with Iran.
