Taliban militants launched an offensive on Afghan military position, which was repulsed by the Afghan security forces after they received close-air support from the Afghan Air Force.

Afghan security forces killed 20 Taliban in Farah province of Afghanistan

Khaama press reported citing the Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense statement that at least 20 Taliban militants were killed after Afghan security forces thwarted a major Taliban offensive in Western Farah province of Afghanistan.

According to the report, Taliban militants launched an offensive on Afghan military position, which was repulsed by the Afghan security forces after they received close-air support from the Afghan Air Force. At least 16 militants were also wounded during the clash while the remaining militants fled the area.

So far, Taliban militant group has not commented regarding the report.

However, the Taliban militants have intensified their attacks across the country since Tuesday when they started their so-called annual spring offensive code name “Operation Omari.”
