On September 20, the Taliban captured 3 checkpoints of the Afghan Army in Yaka Khana area in Almar district of Faryab province in northern Afghanistan, according to the Taliban news agency Voice of Jihad. 4 Afghan Army soldiers were killed and two others including an officer were injured during the attack.

Voice of Jihad also announced that Taliban fighters attacked a checkpoint of the Afghan Police in Shalgar district of Ghazni province in eastern Afghanistan. Voice of Jihad reported that 3 Afghan policemen were killed and 6 others were injured in the attack.

In a separated development, Lieutenant General of US Air Forces Central Command Jeffrey L. Harrigian announced on September 19 at the US Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyber Conference, that the US Air Force has increased the number of F-16 warplanes that are deployed in Afghanistan from 12 to 18, according to the American Military.com website.

“We just plussed up our number of fighters. We had 12 F-16s; we now have 18 … Our close-air support role continues and, as you look at the strategy coming forward, we’re actually right now working with [Commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan] Gen. John Nicholson’s staff on how to best synchronize his advice-and-assist strategy going forward to optimize the placement of the air assets,” said Lt. Gen. Harrigian at the conference.

The US Air Force also deployed air refueling tankers to Afghanistan for the first time in about five years. This new boost in US air power in Afghanistan is believed to be related to US president Donald Trump new policy towards Afghanistan.

American warmongers deserve to lost and die !

Mark Tyrone Chia

They should learn from the Russians how to really kill terrorists, and not just play acting.

Mountains

Afghanistan is not Syria. It suits the insurgency tactically due to the mountains and technology has little to no advantage

Alex

Biggest disadvantage is that the amies are not wanted there, they are there to help the heroin production.

Solomon Krupacek

we saw this in 80ties .)))

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They are importing more terrorists to the region hoping these ones can help them against the Taliban, so it’s a no go else they will lose their allies.

Ono&Dsz

Russia should provide weapons to Taliban! (Maybe already did ?)

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They just have repaired old equipment can get enough off the dead Afghan soldiers and ISIS/Al Qaeda the US still supplies them with that usually not even made in Europe. Ukraine smuggles a lot of arms to the region the govt is broke, what do you expect Ukraine is a puppet of Israel.

DJ Double D

Yeah, some sort seems to be happening. Taliban successes of late seems to be tale-telling.

Moussa Saab

When will the U.S ever learn their lesson? It has been 16+ years and they could not beat a moderately armed terrorist group of their own creation. No amount of F-16’s could beat the Taliban in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a very mountainous terrain and can easily hold tunnels and caves in case of airstrikes.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The Taliban is a spin off of their insurgency groups who kept fighting one another ,so they are really only partly their creation.

DJ Double D

Oh, Boy! US is having it’s hand already full of shits. Donald Trump will soon realize that war-mongering is one thing, while reality is totally a different animal.

Thegr8rambino

they can bring in all the warplanes and toys they want, they are not gonna eliminate the taliban

Vitex

That’s what you need, an illiterate general who can only speak in memes.
