The Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) announced on January 19 that their fighters had carried a new series of operations in the northern Aleppo countryside.
“Our forces carried out a series of effective operations against the Turkish army and its jihadists in the regions of Afrin and Azaz on January 17th and 18th,” the ALF said in an official statement.
The first attack targeted a post of the Turkish military near the city of Azaz. The post was struck with what appears to be an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM). The ALF claims that at least two Turkish service members were injured.
Two other attacks by the ALF targeted personnel of the Turkish-backed Hamza Division in the southern part of the Turkish-occupied Afrin region. Six militants of the group were allegedly killed.
Earlier this week, two separate attacks by the ALF claimed the lives of three Turkish-backed militants in the northern Aleppo countryside.
In the last few months, the ALF inflicted serious losses on Turkish-backed forces in the northern Aleppo countryside. Despite this, the Turkish military has done very little to put an end to the Kurdish guerrilla group’s attacks.
What can the Turkish military do to stop them, they attack Turkish interests and then quickly flee back the Russian/SAA controlled territory to escape, it’s no wonder they’re so successful at what they do.
