One of the few aer battles in Ukraine was captured on camera. A Russian fighter (it is unknown what model, but the author of the video says that it is the “Su” class aircraft) shot down a Ukrainian helicopter. The helicopter seems to be Mi-14PS, a search and rescue helicopter used by the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The incident took place in the Odessa region. According to unconfirmed information, the helicopter was driven by Colonel Igor Bedzai. Igor Bedzai was a colonel in the Ukrainian Navy, who was granted the title of Hero of Ukraine. Igor was in charge of the Tenth Sakha Brigade and was also deputy commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
According to the Ukrainian media he died on May 9, 2022. Igor Bedzai was recognized as one of the best pilots in Ukraine. He was part of the crew and had little influence on the situation. According to the another version, Igor died a month ago near the Crimea, it was reported by Taras Chmut – director of the “Return to the Living” Foundation. According to the reports he died as a result of the unsuccessful landing on Snake Island.

However, all versions converge on the death of the Ukrainian pilot. The AFU suffered a great loss, as Igor really distinguished himself by his high combat skills.

First brrrrrrt is the sonic cracks of the rounds impacting. Second, deeper brrrt is the muzzle blast finally reaching the microphone position.
When you see the smoke coming off the fighter, that’s the cannon firing.

On multiple viewings I think I see rounds impacting the water behind the helicopter. However, the heli might have been hit at the same time, but the video ends before we see the end of the encounter.

There is no heli being shot down in this video, if it was being shot down than dont you think the person shooting the video would have kept the video going a little longer, why would you end the video at that point? This is no nazi or mercenary criminal. It seems that this was a highly respected and distinguished Navy officer and one of the most revered pilots in all of Ukraine who served his country honorably. I am American and our military is mostly used to oppress and subjugate innocent nations and I detest our foreign policy. Having said that I have met honorable people in the military, some of them are friends and they have noble hearts. This is precisely the reason Russia is treading lightly and showing determination but also restraint on the battlefield. Russia knows the majority of the Ukrainian military are just soldiers following orders. This is a painful loss to the family of this revered pilot but also to his comrades in the military who held him in very high regard. Sometimes a picture is worth 1000 words. Look at his face, his humble smile. He seemed like a good man.
