AlMasdarNews reports: Not long after the rebels holed up in the Damascene town of Al-Hamah refused diplomacy, the Syrian Armed Forces relaunched military operations around this strategic suburb.
Initially, the Syrian Army captured the Oyoun region of the town and another strategic point overlooking their mobilization centers and defensive lines causing their fortifications to collapse. Unable to halt the Syrian Arab Army’s advances, the 300+ rebels holding the town desperately surrendered to be later transported to another undisclosed jihadist-held location, most probably Idlib.
The residents of Al-Hamah were observed celebrating the government troops’ presence in the town while town elders formally welcomed the military command of the aforementioned region.
This development is the latest in a series of agreements that have consolidated the Syrian government’s grip on the nation’s capital while expanding the safety perimeter around some of the country’s most sensitive and strategic points.
the rebels really don’t have honor. they are nothing but punks streetgangs.
Throw all these thugs (many of them foreign) in Idlib, until the residents there can’t take it anymore, infighting escalates and the SAA starve them to death.
“the 300+ rebels holding the town desperately surrendered to be later transported to another undisclosed jihadist-held location” — I’m not understanding that. Was that supposed to read “the 300+ rebels holding the town desperately surrendered to be later transported to another undisclosed location where jihadists are being held”
sadly it is because of the lack of men power and equipments in the pro government forces. if the streetgang punk are concentraded in less areas it will be easier for the pro government forces to deal with them.
