Actually, it is a Soviet era upgraded T-72, the Pakistanis assemble them at their Heavy Industrial Complex at Taxila paint it green and call it a Pakistani tank. Then they give it an Arabic or Persian name. Good think you Indians cancelled the 30 year old Arjunk tank as most third world countries can’t produce heavy weaponry. India now has one of the largest fleets of T-90, Iran is going for the same. China still has a long way to go.Atleast they were able to produce their own weapons.But our defence industry is crappy.The government doesn’t want to spend on local defence manufacturing.Whenever there are border tensions with China or pakistan our ministers run towards Russia or USA.That being said the Chinese weapons lack quality.For instance I was reading somewhere Jordan lost all their 10 Chinese wing long drones to accidents.Same with the UAE.The Arabs aren’t happy with Chinese weapons.Even the Pakistanis import their weapons from Europe and not from China.
That is true to some extent. Chinese first generation weapons and planes were very low quality knock-offs of Soviet design. As a young GD pilot I had the opportunity to fly their copy of MIG-19, Farmer C J-6, it has very basic with no all weather radar and the airframe was very dicey and avionics taken out of a Moskvich 415 sedan :) However, thanks to Chengdu design bureau that has over 100,000 engineers, they have made remarkable progress thanks to Russian help again and also reverse engineering. I have examined their J-10 and it is very good. Russia is heavily involved in Chinese weapons programs and the Klimov RD-33 engines were the main engine for most jets. Now they have started reverse engineering Rolls Royce engines and they appear quite good.
Technology is incremental and once a nation gets hold of the basics it is easy. India has been allied to Soviets/Russians since the Nehru era and it to invest in expensive “prestige” projects would be wasteful. The Swedes tried that, and even then the SAAB’s had US engines. Pakistan is all boasts and simply does not have the money or the infrastructure to produce anything. Their heavy military complex at Taxila is basically a knock down kit assembly plant. Much like the propeller driven Mushak, which are basically assembled Swedish SAAB supporters. They had hard time assembling the JF-17 at Kamra, the latest block are all being made in China. Chinese weapons so far have not seen any major combat so the future will tell. Let’s hope India and China never find out and remain at peace.
Peace between India and China is very hard to achieve almost impossible.TBH we are heading for war.India will face a China Pakistan alliance.We have our own allies like the Afghan government , QUAD,Indonesia and some southeast Asian nations.Its gonna be a mess.

It depends what is the chance in. I don’t think even China can get a military win, mostly due to the terrain and distance between Navy of each country. But again the world has changed, the wars are not blunt force face to face anymore.
