Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra or al-Nusra Front) and Ahrar ash-Sham terrorist groups are sabotaging efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the eastern part of Aleppo city, Russia’s foreign minister said on October 21.
“Both Al-Nusra Front and Ahrar ash-Sham, along other organizations cooperating with them, are ultimately sabotaging UN efforts to restore the delivery of humanitarian assistance to eastern Aleppo, [carried out] with [Russia’s] support and the support of the Syrian government,” Lavrov told the press on Friday. “[They] explicitly shell those routes through which such humanitarian aid can be delivered,” Sergey Lavrov said.
Lavrov added that according to Russian intelligence, the gorups operating in Aleppo are “one way or another under the command” of Al-Nusra Front, “which controls eastern Aleppo.” He also emphasized that the terrorists have been preventing the civilians from fleeing eastern Aleppo.
The UN humanitarian agency said at the same day that it is unable to conduct medical evacuations from Aleppo because of a lack of security.
Russia and Syria stopped carrying out airstrikes on terrorist targets in eastern Aleppo on October 18 and the humanitarian pause began on October 20 when corridors opened for civilians and militants that want to exit the city.
However, the US-backed ‘opposition’ shelled the opened corridors, refused to leave Aleppo and prevented major numbers of civilians from doing this.
No mention by Western media. Hmmmm. Wonder why?
They mentioned it. FOX said that fear of arrest by the govt was the reason no one left. They ignored the dozen or so govt relocation of militants and families that have already been done in good faith. It must be nice being a govt stooge. You don’t have to be bothered with thinking.
UN blames lack of security that stops them from providing aid. Thought that was obvious since the US and the West have not tightened the leash on their pets. Maybe the UN should have consulted with the US and allies. Russia, Syria is not responsible for the behaviour of the terrorists, US or West.
