Leadership of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) has responded to setbacks suffered by the terrorist group in northeastern Hama whith an alleged chemical attack on Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions north of the village of Maqartin.

According to pro-government sources, the chemical attack was a key reason behind the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s success in the area. Al-Qaeda-linked militants captured Balil, Um Turaikiya and nearby points but failed ti advance forther to the south and capture Qahira and Maqarin.

The SAA is now reporteldy deploying reinforcements to the area to re-take the lost positions. If Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is not able to develop momentum further right now, this attack will have little impact on the strategic situation north and northeast of the city of Hama. However, it will likely contribute to the will of the SAA leadership to deal with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham with military means after the expected liberation of al-Bukamal.

Interesting but not unprecedented…

It is to be expected that the terrorists will resort to more and more “unconventional” tactics, as the situation becomes more critical for them….

HTS is desperate to somehow annoy the SAA. They make a distractions so Syrian troops will counter the agression, and will leave al-Bukamal postponed, ensuring the SDF takes over it.

These tactics have been used before by ISIS to help Al-Qaeda and vice-versa.

This obviously has little to do with Abukamal and everything to do with HTS losing territory in north-east Hama. Even the article here says it, you look too far east. :p “Leadership of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham has responded to setbacks suffered by the terrorist group in northeastern Hama whith an alleged chemical attack on Syrian Arab Army…” Why do I agree with this? Simply because the scale of this attack is not even remotely enough to divert any attention from the much more important Abukamal offensive, it’s hardly enough to divert attention from north-east Hama.

If Assad wants to undermine the neatest enemy strategy – that has been the focus of recruitment by HTS all along particularly considering Ghouta chemical false flag al-Nurash attack 23-8-16 when al-Nurash poisoned Children and men (mostly old) but remarkably no good looking young women except a few that were hard to get along with (Allah knows everything) – what he should do is give me a visa .

You would be put in the basement Rodney :)

Everyone is mortal in the temporal, as it turns out the eternal universe is only a temporary purpose also , the Prophet (pbuH) wasn’t to know that because it didn’t come down with the Qur’an, probably like other stuff just too confusing, I simplified matters writing to Sana 2012, saying it might also have been that Allah doesn’t exist, or doesn’t want to be known in existance, which means the same thing if that is the case, I have both bases covered with my Philosophy that also incorporates Allah and Fate, I could be something great and I think that’s why I’m on a promise.

What has the UN, the puppets of Washington, Jerusalem and Wahhabistan said? Either nothing or outright lies accusing SAA of attacking itself.

Xanatos

Exactly.

What is funny in all this HTS it’s still been financed with weapons, that’s the strange question who arms al Qaeda now who, recent friend to Al Nusra-HTS was Turkey making some deals there God knows for what , my question is how and by whom are they still funded with weaponry

goingbrokes

US. Despite the words to the contrary the supplies keep coming. “Weapons must flow!”

FlorianGeyer

IF Turkey is not doing so, it must be US supplies via the Kurdish controlled area joining Idlib or via Western Humanitarian Aid convoys.

I was told only Assad used chemical weapons?…..lol

SUB-CIPHER

I really hope the Syrian govt’ is documenting every bit of evidence related to this attack. Taking samples, filming the aftermath, etc. People need to see the true face of the “moderate opposition”. I’m sure they wouldn’t get any love from the western media giants, but it would force them to make the only response available to them. “Good. The Assad Regime got a taste of their own medicine!” :((( In other words… Predictable & cynical bullshit.

jim crowland

I denounce the use chemical weapons by both the Syrian dictator and the rebels.
