A new U.S. strike on the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib has killed a number of al-Qaeda commanders, smugglers and tribal leaders.
The strike, which took place late on October 22, targeted a tent near the town of Salqin, on the Syrian-Turkish border, where the said personnel were holding a dinner.
In a statement, the U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, said the strike will disrupt al-Qaeda’s ability to further plot and carry out global attacks threatening U.S. citizens, partners and innocent civilians.
“Al-Qaeda – Syria takes advantage of the instability in northwest Syria to establish and maintain safe havens to coordinate terrorist activities. With our allies and partners, we will continue to target al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations,” the statement reads.
Local sources revealed that the high-profile dinner was hosted by a notorious smuggler, Samir al-Hassan Ibrahim “al-Suad.” The smuggler, who is allegedly affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), was killed in the U.S. strike along with his two brothers, Amir and Ibrahim.
The strike also claimed the lives of Hammud al-Saharah and Abu Talha al-Hadidi, two prominent military commanders who defected from HTS in 2018. Al-Saharah’s bodyguard, Ali Fateh, was killed with him.
Al-Saharah was HTS’ Emir [Commander] of Aleppo, while al-Hadidi was the Emir of al-Badyia [a vast desert region between western Aleppo and Homs]. The two defectors joined their forces in December of 2018 to form the “al-Fatah Brigades,” an al-Qaeda-affilated group.
At least three local tribal leaders were also killed in the U.S. strike. The leaders were identified as Hassan Dihiban, a local Sheikh from the Ghab Plains in Hama, Ahmad Jarah, a Sheikh of the Al Samatiyah tribe in Hama, and Abu Hassan Shash, a Sheikh of Al Akidat and Al Bujamel.
Salqing’s dinner bombing is the most recent in a series of U.S. strikes on jihadi figures taking shelter in Greater Idlib. The strikes have been ongoing for more than a year now.
The region, which is being ruled by HTS, has become a large safe heaven for terrorists fleeing other parts of Syria and neighboring countries.
It seemes nice if true. I have seen no other infrmation about it – yet.
it is nice to see wahhabi Zionist terrorists killed. These groups are maanged by UAE, Saud clan and are against FSA and Turkish military presence. they sold Idlib in last war.
If the above is true it only means one thing, the fucking Yankees are starting to erase their tracks and are preparing to leave Syria and Iraq with dishonor.
I thought the same thing. But when you have written this on SF, the rumor will probably go and the CIA lackeys will be afraid to gather. This in turn will give the US Zionists more work to find those who know their dirty secrets.
True
That’s what I call the last supper.
Lol.
more amerikan death—when amerikans and turkeys leave Syria will restore peace and prosperity
Possibly. But Israel will probably continue to supply weapons to the Kurds. Peace in the Middle East will threaten Israel more than the current situation.
we will never leave and allow Assad, Iran and PKK take over Syria. US should leave with Russia.
we?! Who are you?
Assad is President of Syria you muppet.
Didn’t Mrs T tell you, she was waving her “Go Assad” flag a while ago.
Precisely: if this is anywhere near the truth, then CIA is trying to kill all ISIS roaches, who would endanger the CIA by spilling info about the horrible War Crimes the CIA Mossad committed.
It just occurred to me this is INTELLIGENCE INFO about the impending SAA sweep of Idlib and the CIA doesn’t want their ISIS friends to get into SAA hands for interrogation and spilling to media that CIA directly was involved in ruining Syria.
Hmmmm their masters had to much of them so the slaves needed to be eliminated
US killing their own men; a very bad sign, brought about by desperation.
If you’re on the Turkish side and you’re actively opposed to resolution 2254 then this is what happens, you either get blown up by the Russians or the US. And the reason they have to do it for Turkey is because the Turks can’t do it for themselves, the Turks can’t be seen to be killing their own people. The terrorists being killed all belong to groups that are TOTALLY opposed to any type of political settlement with the Syrian Government, instead of accepting resolution 2254 they want a continuation of hostilities, they still want to actively overthrow the legitimate government, which is the exact opposite of what Turkey, Russia, Iran, and the US all want. These terrorists that both the US and Russia are killing on behalf of Erdogan are all opposed to Turkish cooperation with Russia, they also don’t want the M4 highway reopened, and they’re all violently opposed to HTS cooperating with the Syrian Government, and they’re All TOTALLY opposed to resolution 2254 and the currently developing political process. That’s why 2 of the victims defected from HTS in the first place, they were opposed to HTS cooperating with the Syrian Government so they switched to the Turkish side, and now they’re on the Turkish side they’re actively opposed to Turkey cooperating with Russia, which means they now have to be eliminated. So if the Russians can’t get to them the US does it instead, and resolution 2254 plods along regardless of any opposition from the Turkish backed groups. Things may seem to have stalled on the military front but the political process is going full steam ahead, not that any SF readers are even vaguely aware of that side of things, it seems to be the biggest secret of all on SF news. The Turkish, Russian, Iranian inspired resolution 2254 is the real reason the terrorists are being assassinated, it may have originally been a Turkish, Russian, Iranian inspired resolution but it now has the US’s full support too, so everyone’s all on the same page now in that respect, everyone except for the terrorists that just got killed that is.
