Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) has deployed an advanced Russian-made T-90 main battle tank (MBT) for the ongoing operation against government forces in northern Hama.
The photo and video of the T-90 MBT opearated by militants originally appeared on March 21. It was the first time ever when Hayat Tahrir al-Sham used the T-90 MBT in offensive operations.
Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki captured a sophisticated Russian-made T-90 MBT on June 9, 2016. Then the group joined Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in 2017.
A video shows the T-90 MBT operated by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham:
T-90 must be destroy ASAP ,but question is how many ammos they have stolen and wich type.Work for Russian special force . So im very surprised all of thoses pigs have fully new equipements, how it’s possible
they have all the ammunition they want as it can fire the same shells the syrian T-72 fire
my bad, you have right ,sorry for this really bad question :)
no worries man, happy to clarify if i can : )
Foreign military engineers – most likely Turkish – work on tanks abandoned by SAA and patch them into running order for the militants. It’s a combined effort to maintain the militants battle capacity.
Its bastarized between t 72 and from what left t90 they captured in 2016, that t90 already broke enough in the past so maybe they just use part from t 72 to make it work again, and it just one t 90 so not enough to change the battle, although it still hard nut to crack off unless got bombeb by RuAF
UNf*uckning believable… A never-ending war…
Unfortunately it is , This is why I dont say the war is over after Aleppo was liberated . I expect 6 years more until the next phase . Too many countries involved .This is why it is long
Nah that’s way too long
I doubt that they captured a mbt t90 and that Russians did not destroyed it immediately after…
That’s NDF story again. They are acting like mercenary force and not like defenders of their country. Many pieces of equipment have been just handed over to jihadists without fight for small bribe by NDF. If they are not payed they don’t fight. There is no court marshal. either. Unfortunately SAA is in deplorable state and it’s very likely we will see repetition of 2015 again. On the top of all that neither of Syrian allies is willing to commit lager military forces to the struggle.
