On August 17, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) attacked Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shaybah super-giant oil field with 10 suicide unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack, dubbed Operation Deterrent Balance 1, targeted the oil field’s wells and its main refinery, according to Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Houthis. Located near the border with the UAE, the Shaybah is one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest oil fields. The filed produces up to 1,000,000 barrels per day.

This would also be one of the primary feeds to the Saudi’s ill-planned pipeline in Eastern Yemeni to the coast, bypassing the Straits of Hormuz. Houthis likely sending a message:“Yemen is our land. Don’t even think about it, Saudi bitch…”
