The An-72 is a Soviet tactical transport aircraft, developed by Antonov Design Bureau. Later, it was produced by Ukraine on the basis of the production capabilities kept from the Soviet times.

Production was replaced by “Saturn” (for planes) and by Klimov’s plant (for helicopters) in last few years. People from closed plants now working in Russia.
True all that Only important thing hthat you forgot is that even gas turbines for the ships are replaced by Saturn production (Krivak frigates “problem”)Those 4 ships that were sold to India because Inda had no problem to buy turbines from Ukraine…And US inspired “sanctions” against Russia only forced Russia to replace everything including turbines for the ships with their own
Russia has only slightly delayed production of their ships because of that! And they have made NEW Russian design made turbines from the scratch without making copy of Soviet design like Ukraine does always.
THANK YOU UKRAINE for forcing Russia to develop their own gas turbines for the ships, jet engines and engines for the choppers !!! That has opened plenty of high paid high tech jobs in Russia and have cut import expences for high tech products that are now MADE IN Russia !
What is “krivak”? No need to use Atlantic pact codes, if real names and projects are opened, it leads to misunderstanding. The only problem I know, was with 11356 project frigates. These ships were sold to India, because they already have other ships of this project. Frigates for Rus.navy use domestic power aggregates.
I read there are still problems with Russian production of large naval powerplants. This will be worked out in time as long as there are orders.
Was. New gas turbines production already started in Kolomna. Combined М55R diesel-turbine aggregate consists from M90FR gas turbine (“Saturn”) and 10D49 diesel (Kolomna plant). Domestic production. 27500 and 5200 horse powers for fast and economic speed.
Rostec also announced that Russian railways will buy computers with domestically made CPUs. Sanctions have woken the giant.
“Baikal” and “Elbrus” CPUs. But it’s quite obsolete. 45 or 60 nano-meters. Quantum computers is the future.
Agreed but you have to start somewhere when developing tech on your own. Quantum computing theory is one thing but building a production processor is quite another.
There is a quantum computer (prototype) with 50 or 52 quantum bits. Western analogue has 48. And “Elbrus” with 60nm tech.process is enough for military use and some parts of civilian sector. Even 90nm is enough for military. So we are the third country in the world after US and China/Taiwan who has processor technology. May be not so outstanding, but still better than many other industrial countries. Useful for cyber sovereignty.

A few years back I went to Chile and saw how the game works. Raw materials from mines, farms and forests shipped out and finished goods shipped in. It is really easy to see in this circumstance how dependent a country can be on dollar based trade. This also makes them completely at the mercy of sanctions.

This story in Ukraine is one of many situations where Russia has left plenty of room to US idiots to do whatever they wanted and all that has fired back at them because they understand JACK SHIT about Ukraine !! Everything they did has only screwed completely Ukrainian economy that was 100% dependent on Russian market ! While all those sanctions (including Ukrainian) have only helped Russia to become self sufficient and to re-industrialize their own country! All that was much easier to do because of outside western pressure!
I understand the import substitution but it didn’t have to happen. Ukraine should have known there was no market for their technical products in the West.

The point is they could have kept production and enriching themselves more gradually in the same time. They were also too blind with hatred and have severed all the contracts with Russia the main importer of their airplanes without having clue who will replace Russia as customer
They are not elites at all, but thieves on russian land. They know that sooner or later Russia will take back own land and people, that’s why thieves are trying to still more, even if they need to destroy $100 property for taking $1 plunder. Its worth to mention that contrary to Ukrop propaganda Oleg Antonov was Russian, the factory was moved from Russia to Ukraine in the 50s by Krustchev who himself was Ukrainian, to help with the Ukrainian economy which at the time was mostly based on agriculture. To This day most the engineers are ethnic Russians, they work for a country that despizes them, non the less Ukropnazis are very proud of the company. Ukropnazi logic in a nutshell…
This plane flies above my home from time to time close to ground. There are several airports and airfields around. There was 100th anniversary of the Airforce few years ago i, I saw even Tu-160 and Tu-95 flying to the parade. Very loud birds, like a thunder.
