An urgent and trustable truce is needed in Yemen

Citizens in Sanaa after airstrikes of the Arab-led coalition

Since the Houthis and forces loyal to former Yemen President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the Saudi-led coalition began a conflict in March in a bid to restore President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi’s authority, truce attempts have not been fully respected.

As a result of that, about 80% of Yemeni population is believed to require aid due to the huge decrease of commercial shipments to the country mainly because of the action of the Arab coalition that has generated an almost total blockade of the imports alleging that they can’t take the risk of houthis being supplied of weaponry through commercial ships.

The situation is worsening in a disturbing way, now even water provision and hospital functioning is at risk because of the lack of all the necessary supplies for appropriate operation.

Humanitarian organizations demand a real ceasefire to allow the delivery of aid for Yemeni population.
