Early on May 13, unidentified gunmen carried out yet another attack on the Turkish-backed Sham Corps in in the northwestern region of Greater Idlib.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the gunmen attacked a headquarters of the group next to the towns of al-Fu’ah and Kafriya in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

“The offensive began with the unidentified [gunmen] targeting the headquarters of the [Sham] Corps with an RPG round, after this, an exchange of fire took place between the unidentified gunmen on one side and the personnel of the headquarters on the other side,” the SOHR said in a report.

According to the London-based monitoring group, the attack on the Turkish-backed group’s headquarters didn’t result in any casualties.

This was the second attack on the Sham Corps in the last three days. On May 10, a headquarters of the group located near the town of Binnish in eastern Idlib was targeted in a similar fashion.

Officials in the groups told opposition outlets that the attacks are being investigated without providing any additional information.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which dominates much of Greater Idlib, may be behind these attacks. The terrorist group was recently provoked by the Sham Corps cooperation with Turkey to implement the March 5 agreement in the region.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

It probably was HTS responsible but not necessarily, Assad has a lot to gain if these 2 groups start fighting so I wouldn’t be surprised to find out Syrian intelligence is also helping out. :]
