According to opposition sources, a booby-trapped car exploded inside the town of Mashrafah‏ in the countryside of the border town of Ras al-Ayn in northern al-Hasakah.

“At least a civilian was killed and many others were injured … The number of casualties may rise as many of the wounded are suffering from critical injured,” the Baladi News outlet quoted local sources as saying.

A day earlier, two car bombs exploded in the towns of al-Arbaeen and Umm Ushbah near Ras al-Ayn. The explosions claimed the lives of four Turkish service members, two soldiers and two officers, as well as many Syrian militants.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense held the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) responsible for the attacks. However, no evidence backing this accusation was presented.

These recent bombings re-escalated the situation in northeast Syria, once again. Minor clashes between Turkish and Kurdish forces were reported in the northern parts of al-Hasakah and Raqqa in the last 24 hours.

“The Turkish Ministry of National Defense held the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) responsible for the attacks. These attacks & following news are very necessary to keep US troops presence in Syria. Otherwise communist Kurds will lose control of Rojava to the peaceful Kurdish parties coalition.
