On October 10, a Liberia-flagged tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile in the Red Sea sustaining minor damage, but no casualties.
British security firm Ambrey reported that the incident occurred about 73 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port of al-Hodeidah, which is held by the Houthis (Ansar Allah).
The chemical/products tanker, en route from the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to the port of Muscat in Oman, was struck on its starboard side, Ambrey said in an advisory notice, adding that the projectile hit the bridge of the vessel causing some minor damage only.
Separately, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency (UKMTO), a detachment of the Royal Navy, said that it had received a report of an incident in the same area, adding that authorities are investigating.
Approximately four hours later, two additional projectiles reportedly detonated within 0.27 nautical miles of the vessel’s port side.
“Ambrey assessed the vessel to have a strong affiliation with the Houthi targeting profile,” Ambrey said.
Later on, UKMTO said that another unknown projectile exploded in close proximity to the vessel, without causing any casualties.
The Houthis have not yet acknowledged the attack reported by Ambrey and UKMTO, though it typically takes them a few days to issue a claim.
Since November, the Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the United States and the UK in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in response to the Israeli war on the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip.
The group also launched dozens of drones and missiles at Israel and shot down at least eleven American-made combat drones over Yemen and nearby waters.
The U.S. and the UK have carried out hundreds of strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen since January. Israel also launched two waves of strikes against civilian infrastructure in al-Hodeidah in July and September. However, the aerial campaign failed to deter the Houthis or degrade their capabilities.

the british should be confined to the waters surrounding their pitiful island for the sake of humanity.
no, no! britannia rules the waves! our mighty aircraft carriers, h.m.s. white elephant 1 and 2 dominate the world’s oceans! or at least they will do, as soon as we can stop them breaking down. we’re even saving up hard to buy some planes to put on them! and our mighty fleet of 7 surface ships is awesome! we’ll soon sort out johnny russian and johnny chinaman and johnny iranian! they don’t like it up em!
the other way to put it is: ’ brittania waives the rules’ from the fact that london’s high court of justice do a lot a lot of maritime claims. in fact one division of the court deals with testaments, divorce and maritime matters and its called wills vives and wrecks division. sometimes the brits have a bit of humor, not much and not often however!
they have no humour the world is ruled by the city. and the idea is to keep that the top secret.
oh keep up they advanced from primary controls to smart using finance via making keynesian economics the global standard. that way they have been running the global economy the way they want it to be. and of course most people have no idea.
what’s pitiful about it? name one thing.
royal navy alert alert alert
insurance is normally 0.1% of the value of the ship and cargo. it rapidly rose tenfold to 1%. now you can’t get insurance for any price for kosher ships or any ships calling at talmudistan. maersk and hapag lloyd have given up on the red sea completely and go round africa. chinese shipping lines have just stopped calling at shlomo’s ports and continue using the red sea and suez canal completely unmolested. so long as you’re not supporting genocide you don’t have any problems.
at the moment many are happy, because the houthis oppose the cowboy oppression on the planet. but everyone should realise, these guys in yemen parasited hundreds of years by kidnapping tourists.
