Azerbaijan released 32 Armenian servicemen from captivity and handed them over to the Armenian side. The exchange was confirmed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to Pashinyan, Baku handed over 32 servicemen to the representatives of Armenia. 31 of them were captured during the battles in 2020-2023. Another soldier was captured in September 2023 on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Earlier, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on prisoner exchange. 32 Armenian servicemen were exchanged to 2 Azerbaijanis. This step was taken as part of the normalization of relations between the two Transcaucasian countries.
