On the morning of November 6th, the Artsakh Ministry of Defense released a video showing reported losses by Azerbaijan’s side in something it calls “Hell Valley.”
“Hell valley: destruction of Azerbaijani troops with a large number of military equipment and manpower losses. The Artsakh Defense Army continues to detect and destroy Azerbaijani units preparing for an attack. The footage shows about 10 pieces of equipment destroyed in the forests near Berdzor, including the Israeli Sandcat infantry fighting vehicles.”
Overnight on November 5th, coming into 6th, Azerbaijani shelling continued over Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh’s capital.
“The chaotic shelling of Stepanakert and its outskirts has been going on for more than two hours. The artillery of the Artsakh Defense Army works to suppress the firing positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.”
A video was released showing Armenian soldiers somehow downing an alleged Turkish drone with assault rifles.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Moscow has received information about the transfer of militants from the Middle East to Karabakh.
Members of terrorist organizations are now being transferred to the Karabakh conflict zone, Russian foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
“According to incoming information, members of terrorist organizations from the Middle East, who, as we have already said, have blood on their hands up to the elbows, are being transferred to the zone of the Nagorno – Karabakh conflict,” Zakharova said.
According to her, we are talking about radical mercenaries. They profess the ideology of jihadism. All this cannot but cause Moscow serious concern, since such a development of the situation is fraught with the emergence of a new terrorist enclave in Transcaucasia. Russia stated this openly, immediately after it had the relevant data at its disposal.
In a very obvious piece of international propaganda, and an attempt to rally people to the Armenian cause, heavy medal band System of a Down made a video and a song to call to the fight.
The vocalist and front man of the band is Serj Tankian, an Armenian, and he is a quite vocal “political activist”, occasionally.
On the Azerbaijani side, the push is on-going and it still appears to be in the better position, together with its Turkish and militant support.
A video was also released of “liberated areas”.
During the day on November 5 and night on November 6, the Armenian armed forces fired at the positions of the units of the Azerbaijan Army and reportedly at civilian settlements in various directions of the front with various small arms, howitzers, and mortars.
The combat operations continued with varying intensity, mainly in the Aghdere, Aghdam, Khojavend, and Gubadli directions of the front. The enemy was forced to retreat suffering casualties on personnel and military vehicles in some areas of the front.
Currently, combat operations are underway. The operational situation is reportedly under the control of the Azerbaijani troops.
A video was also released showing abandoned equipment, left when Armenian troops reportedly retreated from some positions.

I am not sure about pushing back, but after looking at the latest videos and independent maps, it would appear that the Azerbaijan intial attack around Shusha has stalled as I had posted yesterday due to tougher Armenian resistance and new supply of ATGM, which they are using quite effectively in the steep terrain. Having visited Shusha, it is on a hilltop and very hard to capture if there is dug in resistance. The Azerbaijan infantry is not prepared for tough mountain slugfest that entail very high casualties. The terrain is like in central Iran near Mehran-Mandali, with steep and rolling hills where the defenders have the advantage. Iraq lost a whole corps in the Mehran sector very early on as the Iranians were not willing to give an inch. If the Armenians can hold out and be resupplied they will do well. Turkish drones will be the deciding factor here.
To be resupplied they need to control the roads, if they control the roads there is no need to dig in Shusha.
True, I have said that. I believe they have close to 1200 men in Shusha and quite a bit of D-30, 23mm quad Shilka and some ATGM, but if they are not resupplied and the Azerbaijan infantry surrounds the three access roads that wind into Shusha, they have pretty much had it. If armenians fight like houthis they can resist the attack otherwise its difficult and they will lose.
I am not sure, in 1992 they drove the rag tag Azeris out easily, but now with drones they will have a hard time. The Turks control the skies, the Saudi fuckwits don’t.

The Russians did not warn the Armenian side about the Azeri war preparations and new capabilities (aka drones) either. Looks like the Russians gave plenty of intelligence about Armenian assets and capabilities to the Azeri side though.
