On October 20, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced new gains of his forces in the ongoing Azerbaijani-Armenian war in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. According to the Azerbaijani President, Armenian forces lost Dordchinar, Kurdlar, Yukhari Abdurrahmanli, Garghabazar, Ashaghi Veysalli, Yukhari Aybasanli villages in the Fuzuli district, Safarsha, Hasangaydi, Fughanli, Imambaghi, Dash Veysalli, Aghtapa, Yarahmadli villages in the Jabrayil district, Aghjakand, Mulkudara, Dashbashi, Gunashli, Vang villages in the Khojavand district, Havali, Zarnali, Mammadbayli, Hakari, Sharifan, Mughanli villages in the Zangilan district.
The town of Zangilan was also captured by Azerbaijani forces, Aliyev emphasized.
Previously, Aliyev announced the capturing of the towns of Jabrayil and Fuzuli, and the Hadrut settlement, as well as more than 50 villages.

Meanwhile, the Armenian side insists that its forces have been developing a major counter-offensive in the southern part of the Nagorno-Karabakh region. A spokesperson for the Armenian defense ministry even claimed that Azerbaijani forces are now on retreat there.

The Armenian side also released own vision of the current situation. According to it, Azerbaijani forces suffered 6,309 casualties, lost 576 armoured vehicles, 4 TOS systems, 23 military planes, 16 helicopters and 200 UAVs.

Azer air power and artillery will exact heavy losses on Armenia in its counter offensive.
I think the hopeless offensive will do the opposite as any resources used in a hopeless counteroffensive are wasted and should be used to set up additional lines of defense instead. It will make the Azer advance easier and faster. Time will tell.

One of the main reasons Azeri offensive has been slow and steady is that, Azerbaijan wants to give civilians ample time leave. So it can reduce civilian casualties. Also, without many civilian helpers, Artskins have dire supply situation. Medical help and supplies are other issues.

The reason for not drooling all the time about everything is that in war, things fluctuate, and usualy, the attacker will have the benefit of been overwelming by land and air due to been the one whom was prepared by large to do just so, and that is by large also depending on topograpgy, and so on, witch makes sense if you look at the parts of NK witch where the Azeri have rushed into, also due to an larger force, witch again is backed by partly air superioity, not as much as some think, to me, Drones are tools, usefull because of the lack of counter messurements, and ability to do so from the Armenian side.
I wont strech the tactics to far, but look at what region the Azeri storm troopers have gotten lately, I am not that impressed to be frank, and it dont change mutch, but I would consider carefully the retreats (tactical) and to consilidate the terain, and build up air defence, and just wait.
