On November 8, the Armenian Unified Infocenter confirmed that heavy clashes are taking place near Shusha city and the town of Karintak in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the center, Armenian forces repelled several Azerbaijani attacks in the direction of Shusha and Karintak in the last 24 hours.
“At the moment, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ attempts to advance in the main directions continue,” the center said in a statement, “Artsakh Defense Forces take appropriate measures to suppress these actions, to detect Azeri groups and neutralize them with precise fire.”
The center said four Azerbaijani drones were shot down and two vehicles were destroyed during the ongoing clashes near Shushi.
Azerbaijani forces are now less than 6 km away from Shusha, which is located south of the city of Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Earlier today, Azerbaijani forces captured 16 settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenian forces. Nevertheless, they sustained heavy losses, according to Armenian claims.
The Armenian media released a video showing the shot down of yet another An-2 aircraft over Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan reportedly uses these aircraft as UAVs.
Just a few hours ago, #Armenian Air Defense Force shot-down another remotely piloted Antonov An-2T biplane of #Azerbaijan Air Force over #Artsakh/#NagornoKarabakh. #Azerbaijan uses these loitering drones to detect position of #Armenian surface-to-air missile systems. pic.twitter.com/XBfdwLsPN0
