The Syrian Arab Army and its allies have liberated an area of 8,000km2 and taken control over the entire Jordanian border with Rif Dimashq Governorate, the Syrian state-run media outlet SANA reported on Tuesday.
According to SANA, government forces fully cleared the area from terrorists. However, these reports have still to be confirmed.
If the report is confirmed, this will allow the army and its allies to free a signficant force that could be used on other frontlines across Syria.
The ISIS-held city of Mayadin and the T-2 Pumping Stations are obvious targets for the government operations.

At this moment the Jordanian army is likely larger, better equipped and they will be defending their homes.
It is highly unlikely SAA can defeat them but it is very likely Israel will defend Jordan against invaders from Syria and or Iraq if they appear to be about to overrun the country.

Nothing to celebrate. SAA moved in to area abandoned by FSA along the Jordanian border. Still huge packet left North of the border. Looks like SAA has no more units available to check the area
its a huge desert area……nothing but rats(isis) can leave there. thats why in the borders there are many outposts. ISIS attacked one recently and killed everyone. easy job. with such an expanded frontline it takes 100s og 1000s of soldiers just to maintain it, not fight
It’s about 85% cleared. Certain small units have gone underground, literally usually, on the outskirts of villages questionably loyal to themselves. They only have a short time to live anyway. Yet, flare ups will occur from time to time as they come out of hiding and try to make their way back .. to Jordan usually or maybe to Iran via a land route or by boat at some point.
